How to Begin Your Shoulder Augmentation Journey

Where Do We Take the Fat From?

What to Expect on the Day of Shoulder Augmentation Fat Grafting

On the day of your shoulder augmentation fat grafting session, you will be warmly welcomed back to our Miami office, where Dr. Gallagher and our team can answer any lingering questions and escort you to the operating room.

Dr. Gallagher will make surgical markings on specific places in the donor area(s) agreed upon during the consultation. When you’re ready to begin the procedure, you will be given local anesthesia to ensure the procedure is comfortable and pain-free.

For the procedure itself, Dr. Gallagher will make tiny incisions in the donor areas, such as the flanks, abdomen, or thighs, and use a thin tube (cannula) to suction out fat via liposuction. The fat is then purified by placing the harvested fat in a centrifuge or filtration system to remove blood, oil, damaged cells, and other impurities, leaving only healthy, viable fat cells for the injections.

The processed fat is then injected into new incisions in the shoulder area, adding immediate volume, shape, and definition. Dr. Gallagher will close the incisions with fine sutures, and you will wake up in the recovery area to be monitored.

You may feel tight, sore, or fatigued, but this is normal and manageable with painkillers prescribed by Dr. Gallagher. She will also place compression garments around your shoulders to reduce swelling and manage fluid.

    Dr. Gallagher and her team are the absolute best!
